The Livin' is Easy
Hello again!
I know it's been a long while since the last time I wrote, but lemme tell ya... College is stressful and time consuming. Since I am on the quarter schedule, we have (basically) non-stop midterms for 5 weeks, so it's easy to get sucked in to school and studying (sometimes even until 3am... yikes).
I don't really have a specific topic I want to talk about, so I will update on my life.
School is going pretty good, I have a pretty full schedule this quarter and am thus always out and about running from class to class and doing homework in between. I've made some really good friends through my math class (mostly because we studied until 3 am together for 3 days straight, so yay midterms!), and we're all going to have the same math class together next quarter as well (unknowingly). I have decided to minor in German! woohoo, such fun. I just think it's really important to have a balance between classes, and because I'm going to school for engineering, a lot of my classes are math and science, and I figured that German would be easy enough for me to learn and it'll be a nice break from calculus, chemistry and physics.
Last week, all of my friends and I were sick. We had so many fun plans for the weekend, like going on a hike and gong downtown, and didn't do any of them because none of us could breathe out of our noses. We decided to just have a laid back weekend, watching movies, eating waffles and playing board games. We did, however, end up going to the beach on Sunday and eating acai, and that was super duper fun. Thankfully we are all a lot healthier now, and the weather is GORGEOUS!!! Hello, Washingonians it is 75* at 9 am!!!!! I mean!!!!!!! WOW.
That's another thing I've noticed, now that it's really nice and warm outside everyone is in such a great mood and ahhh I love it. Most Cal Poly students are very outdoorsy to begin with, but now since it's supposed to be 80* all week, people are getting extra antsy to spend time outside. The only crummy part about the nice weather is that finals are next week and so this week should be spent studying, but it's hard to study when all you want to do is spend time outdoors, not doing homework. Alas, I guess going outside will do for a nice study break and who knows maybe even motivation to study more efficiently.
Other than that, I am very excited for spring break, but won't say anymore until after it's over... Also my schedule for next quarter is pretty good. I have early classes but also get out early, so it'll make for some time outside, tanning and getting some vitamin D.
If I had one piece of advice to share that I've really learned in the last couple weeks is to take your time, don't rush things. Enjoy time outside and make an effort to make other people happy. Being selfless is good, and will make you feel happy.
